sweet new ride...

I've been slowly workin' on a new ride. Right now the whole thing is built out of recycled parts with the exception of the rims.

There are a few more components that I need to make gold before it's "finished". Yes I also need tubes with GOLD stems(the tires arent' shown here but i have a nice pair chillin just off frame) and... wait for it.... a GOLD CHAIN. I already technically have a gold chain- my buddy Patrick is giving me on he used to use on one of his old bikes. I'm just waiting for him to get his new one so I can grab it from him. I'm going to paint the cranks gold as well as the seat post. Eventually I'd love to buy this gold chain-ring and crank set online thats gold with little hearts in the negative space but that is pretty far off. For now it's chill being recycled and rattle canned. I got some car rim paint and a finish and primer that adher to metal really well. muahaha. so bling.

Notice the pedals and the "poof" pad. That's right- plastic pedals from a little kids bike along with a fun little poof pad. I have to go in with a sharpie and darken the diamonds on the poof pad though but that shouldn't take long. Haha I'm still laughing that I'm actually building myself a fixed gear. Well my boyfriend is building it with me- he is like the paint master fosho.

Some of you might remember my old little road bike:

I'm still on it every single day and will continue to be. I just think it's probably important to have two bikes ready to go incase one of them gets clobbered. The story might be different if I had a car... eh... naa I'd still build up the goldy:)

.home.

Read this

As many of you have already heard, I have been dealing with a certain illness that has to do with my blood sugar and will probably continue to have to deal with it for a long time coming. No worries though, it's not the end of the world. I would, however, appreciate your prayers and patience with me during this trying time as I learn about what diet helps me the best. Darn sugars.

Other than that I'd like to say that I'm home and happy to be so. I have a few new adventures planned- one of which involves the season of LENT which is already upon us. This time last year I started another blog called the The Snowboarder Order to try to stay current with my beliefs and dig a little deeper into what Catholicism really means to me. haha. I haven't kept it up much aside from a quick blurp about Ron Paul and how important I think he is to Christians who believe in the freedoms we have been promised as Americans. I haven't canceled it, just haven't had something to post for a while. Soon, I'm sure. Anyway, when it comes to this lent I have a few other things planned. Keep your eyes peeled.

Lord, you'll get no sleep from my eyes.
