2008... it starts...Western Tour

So, in light of my almost 6 month streak of working with small companies that don't always HAVE work for me and the fact that the winter is VERY slow for freelance video work , I have decided to take advantage of a few other opportunities that have been presented to me this new year. There are many adventures a-brew and I'll reveal them slowly as they actually unfold so keep your eyes peeled. (I know how oh-so important I am in the scheme of the world lol just kidding). Anywhichway I figure I'd keep all of you updated even if just to make sure that my closest family and friends know where I am incase something "happens"- mom that was for you. Rest assured, though, I'm not expecting anything to "happen" other than some good old life experience and possible future opportunity. As the campus minister at my church, Seth, told me today: "You never know where God will send you, right?" I am deciding to embrace something new instead of sitting around and loathing in my lack of money and lack of a job option that will be making me 50 grand a year.

Goodbye self-loathing...
HELLO ...Western tour with a bunch of crazy rock and roll bands.

That's right folks I'll be touring with my long time friends Mattie, Chase, Derrik, Danny, and their band called A Girl A Gun A Ghost as well as a few other bands including Poison the Well. I know these guys from college days and Mattie is one of my most trusted friends. I'll be touring with them for about 2 and a half weeks hitting the entire west coast as well as some other western states including, and starting out in, Texas. As usual I will be keeping track of my travels via blog and documentary style video.

Along with me I am bringing a friend from church. Her name is Lydia and we've decided to make this short trip a ministry opportunity. Most of the bands playing these huge concerts we'll be working are secular bands. For a few dates there will be one Christian band playing (the chariot) but for 90% of the dates the bands are secular only. I'm very excited to have Lydia along to spend some quality time with my buddies and me Christian-style. The Lord sends his followers with support so I made sure to include Lydia on this adventure to make sure that we are effective and safe along the way. She is from the non-denominational church that Tyler and I frequent called The Rock and has been a good girl friend to me since I moved out here.

My travels will start with me going to Houston shortly after mom's visit to Utah. I might drop in on Happy in Houston and see how she is before the tour actually starts. Lydia and I would appreciate your prayers during these 2 and a half weeks of rock and roll goodness! Keep an eye on my blog for pictures and updates.

If you are a friend of mine who lives along the west coast and is reading this blog, expect a phone call soon:)

We could be closer than you know,
Chelsea
